Backup
Back up your setup and restore it on another Mac
Export your proxies, configurations, and rules to one file, and bring them back after a reinstall or on a new Mac.
Reinstalling, moving to a new machine, or wanting a way back before a large change are all the same file. Export once, import on the other end.
Export
Open Settings → General → Configuration Backup, click Export…, and choose where to save the file.
A backup holds your proxies (including server addresses and user names), configurations, and rules, plus Appearance, Language, Launch at Login, Start Proxy on Launch, Switch Configurations Automatically, the Test URL and the Always Real IP list. Wi-Fi automation mappings live in the configurations and come along, and so does a rule’s Kill Switch. Proxy passwords are not in it: they stay in this Mac Keychain and are never written to the file.
Not in the file: the macOS location permission, which you allow again under Settings → Permissions on the new Mac; and the content filter, which is a system setting, so rules with Kill Switch on will offer to install it there.
Restore on another Mac
There are two ways in. On a fresh install, pick Restore from Backup at the second step of the setup. If Antify is already in use, go to Settings → General → Configuration Backup and click Import…. Both read the same file. The Antify on the new Mac must be at least as new as the one that exported it; update first if not. A rules export from the Rules page is not a backup and is imported on the Rules page.
During the import, Antify asks for each proxy password this Mac does not already have. You can continue without them and fill them in later on the Proxies page.
After the import
- A running system extension is brought up to date. If that does not go through, it keeps the previous configuration until you restart the proxy.
- Both export and import are recorded on the Activity page.
- If any proxy is still missing a password, the import result says how many.
